What we collect

Creating an account and using the planner sends us:

  • Your email address, used to sign you in and to reach you if you contact us.
  • Your password — we never see or store it in plain text; only a one-way bcrypt hash is kept.
  • The meals you plan: date, meal slot, title, and any notes or recipe URL you add.
  • Any meals you save to your personal library, and a history of their note edits.
  • Your account settings (dark mode, which snack rows are shown, delete confirmation).
  • Session records that keep you signed in, and any agent access tokens you create — both stored so we can revoke them, never as plain text.

What we don’t collect

Simple Menu Planner runs no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers of any kind. We do not collect your location, contacts, or device identifiers, and we never sell or share your data with anyone.

Using it without an account

You can plan a full week without signing up. Without an account, your meals never leave your device — they are stored locally in your browser (or, in the iOS app, on your phone) and are never sent to our servers.

How long we keep it, and how to delete it

Your data stays in your account for as long as you keep it. From Settings, you can permanently delete your account at any time — this immediately removes your meal plan, saved meals, sessions, and agent tokens; it cannot be undone. Signed-in sessions expire automatically after 30 days of inactivity, and a deleted meal is fully purged from our systems within 90 days.

Children

Simple Menu Planner is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or how long we keep it, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
